Dr. Gary McCoy is in his eighteenth year of teaching at GGBTS. Before coming to the Seminary, he served in Korea as a music missionary with the International Mission Board for 17 years. His work in Korea included teaching at the Korea Baptist Theological College/Seminary in the areas of composition, voice, and church music ministries. At Golden Gate, he teaches in the areas of music, spirituality and the arts, spiritual formation, and ministry assessment.

McCoy has authored a number of published and unpublished works, including Seeing as Believing: Growing Faith Through the Visual Experience; Look to the Manger; Easter Praises; Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee; Hymn Arrangements for the Korean Church Pianist, and His Only Son: God's Gift at Christmas. 

Dr. McCoy and his wife, Mary Nell, have three children and two grandsons. His hobbies include reading, travel, and other family activities.
