Dr. John Shouse is a native of Washington, D.C. and has served churches in Texas, Kentucky, Connecticut, and the District of Columbia. Dr. Shouse has also been an adjunct professor at Austin Presbyterian Seminary; adjunct professor of religion at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas; Garret Fellow in Systematic Theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky; guest lecturer for the Bible Chair at the University of Texas; and a Visiting Scholar at Fuller Seminary, St. Andrews University, and the Graduate Theological Union.
Dr. Shouse is the author of An Introduction to Christian Worship. His research interests include the Doctrine of God, particularly in the area of the Trinity, Christology, Christian Worship, Analytic Theology, Theological Method, Narrative Theology – particularly as it is influenced by Dramatic Theory, and Soren Kierkgaard.
He is active in the professional theater, most recently in Equity productions of William Shakespeare. Dr. Shouse is also a performing illusionist and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Magicians.
He has written numerous professional papers and publications, been featured speaker and interim pastor at conferences and churches throughout the country, and since 2008 has served as Lead Pastor at Tiburon Baptist Church in Tiburon, California. He has also served in pulpit supply and interim pastorates. |
