Dr. Paul Kelly began his service at Golden Gate in Fall 2009. His teaching responsibilities include the courses for the youth ministry certificate as well as other educational leadership courses. Prior to coming to Golden Gate, Kelly served as Vice President of Ministry Resources at Student Life Publishing, Editor-in-Chief of Discipleship Resources in Student Ministry Publishing at LifeWay Christian Resources, and served churches in Texas and Illinois.

In addition to the Editor-in-Chief position at LifeWay, he served as a Design Editor in Youth Discipleship and a Youth Specialist in Discipleship. As a youth specialist, he provided training for youth leaders in discipleship nation-wide.

Kelly is the Founder and President of an online ministry called SmallYouthGroup.com. It is an online ministry that provides training, resources, and encouragement for youth leaders in small churches.

He is a member of the Association of Youth Ministry Educators and the International Association for the Study of Youth Ministry.

Kelly’s doctoral research focused on similarities in youth ministry objectives across cultures. Kelly has a strong interest in cross-cultural youth ministry and has been a guest professor of youth ministry at Alliance Graduate School in the Philippines.
