Dr. Robert (Bob) Phillips came to GGBTS in the spring of 2014. Although a native born Texan, he spent his school age years in Oklahoma.

For the past thirty-three years, he has been a librarian at Southwestern Baptist Seminary, most recently as the Associate Dean of Libraries. His doctoral research focused on how ministers find information. His current research interests include ways librarians can contribute to seminary education through instruction in research and writing.

He and his wife, Addie Ann, a retired church pre-school coordinator, have three children and six grandchildren, three of whom live in Alaska.

After forty years on the Texas prairie, he spends his weekends exploring the Bay Area’s trails, beaches, museums, and local history. When not reading books from the seminary library, he enjoys mysteries and biographies.
